We focus on the similarities and differences in their models, paying particular attention to transpersonal issues, especially those that Assagioli himself mentioned in the published and unpublished writings included in our research. These ideas are stated in brief to set the context for the discussion that follows.It is our hope that the comparison of Jung's and Assagioli's psychological models presented here may lead to a better understanding of the roles played by these two scholars in the history of transpersonal psychology. Some of the ideas mark important points of agreement or disagreement.This will become clear as we review communications between the two men and trace Assagioli's references to and comments on Jung's psychological model.
