Northside Behavioral Health is a community mental center in Tampa located close to USF’s campus.
The Tampa Residential Facility (TRF) is a 60-bed residential program for high-risk boys, ages 14 to 18, who are in need of comprehensive mental health services.
Of the 60 beds, 24 beds may be used for substance abuse treatment services.
The Silver Child Development Center located at the University of South Florida Psychiatry Center is the site for general and specialty outpatient clinics.
Residents will see patients at this site for a minimum of a half-day per week throughout the two year program.Residents will also perform psychiatric consultation for patients admitted to the hospital.Gracepoint Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit in Tampa.Opportunities for publications, including case studies, are available to those interested.Academic atmosphere with an emphasis on quality patient care and learning.Residents will work here a half day per week in their first year doing psychiatric assessments and medication management visits.Children’s Medical Services has a building on USF’s campus that houses clinics for a number of pediatric specialties providing care to patients with Medicaid or local/state funding.Residents will work with an interdisciplinary team to perform in depth psychiatric evaluations on children and adolescents admitted to inpatient psychiatry unit.These patients will be followed closely for the duration of their stay.Second year residents will conduct psychiatric evaluations for youth being served at this site and interfacing with a multidisciplinary team to create treatment recommendations.Residents will have the opportunity to co-lead groups for families that have experienced trauma as well as provide parent management training.
