The Rutgers University-Newark MFA can be completed in a two-year time frame.

Most of our classes, workshops and readings begin at p.m., Monday through Thursday, allowing students to commit to rigorous daily writing schedules, work day jobs, or raise families.

The Creative Writing concentration at Southeastern is dedicated to supporting the intensely personal act of creating literature.

Incoming students encounter an open, respectful community of writers/faculty and a curriculum that embraces the full range of writing experiences through intensive workshops, independent studies, and literature classes; internship experiences; and close contact with Southeastern's visiting Writers-in-Residence.

She has received a Poetry Fellowship from the Kansas Arts Commission and the Nadya Aisenberg Residency Fellowship from the Mac Dowell Colony, and she was the 2009-10 Resident Poet at the Amy Clampitt House in Lenox, Massachusetts.

From 1998-2008 she was on the English faculty at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.

While some MFA grads go on to law or business school or into publishing, many seek teaching jobs.
