The Society of Multivariate Experimental Psychology (SMEP) announces a small grant program to help support the dissertation work of graduate students working in psychology and related disciplines, with special emphasis on multivariate approaches to measurement and analysis of substantive problems. The grants are limited to graduate students whose dissertation committee includes an active member or emeritus member of SMEP.

Proposals are encouraged from the full range of education research fields and other fields and disciplines engaged in education-related research, including economics, political science, psychology, sociology, demography, statistics, public policy, and psychometrics.
Applicants for this one-year, non-renewable award should be advanced doctoral students at the dissertation writing stage, usually the last year of study. In addition, recipients are strongly encouraged to submit their research for presentation at the annual Graduate Student Poster Sessions using the general call for submissions in the Summer of each year.Any publication stemming from the research should acknowledge SMEP support.Method of Application: Applicants can apply by post.The Duke Funding Alert newsletter, published every Monday, provides information on all new and updated grants and fellowships added to the database during the prior week.Review of the applications will take place in the following six weeks.We expect that the awards will be announced around the end of February.Scholarship Award: The successful candidates will be supported in terms of Tuition fees at the UR and Dissertation research expenses.
